The National Research Foundation (NRF) supports and promotes research and human capital development through funding, the provision of national research facilities and science outreach platforms and programmes to the broader community in all fields of science and technology, including natural sciences, engineering, social sciences and humanities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting and Maintaining existing fences, gates, windmills, dams and farm roads
  • Operating of heavy and light equipment including the Honey Sucker
  • Assisting with the opening and closing of trenches
  • Removal trims trees
  • Performing maintenance/cleaning vehicles and equipment
  • Assisting in maintaining power lines
  • Collecting and removal of waste bins
  • Assisting with fencing of graveyards and maintaining it
  • Assists in maintaining existing gardens and orchards on farms
  • All other general duties as assigned

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 10
  • Driver licence (advantageous)
  • Experience as a General Worker

 

Experience:

  • Working in construction and/or on farms
  • Gardening
  • General Fencing
  • General Construction
  • Painting

 

Knowledge:

  • General Health and Safety procedures
  • Operation of common hand tools (electrical and mechanical)
  • Working on heights and lifting of heavy objects.

 

Additional Notes:

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Must be able to perform other general tasks as assigned by the line manager.
  • Physically and mentally fit (Must be able to climb on large trucks)
